cat #6,7 and #8

I am going to the vet to pick up three ferals cats that are in being spayed and neutered. There is the two young adult females and one male cat. I decide I will get pain medications for the girls. I get them home and place them in my feral pen. Everyone is quiet. But the girls do not know I am trying to help them. They won't take the medication by mouth without a fight so I decide to put it in the food. So far they refuse t eat. I will wait and hope they will eat soon. The male is fine and settles by the cat tree. My Tabby, who I will name Sherlock. The one that refused to go to the nice barn home watches me and every move I make. I decide to call it a night and turn the lights off and make sure the heater is on. I hope the females eat, they will feel better if they do. It makes me sad. Tomorrow I will give the pain medication by mouth if they do not eat the food.

another barn

I go into the pen this morning and decide to take the Tabby and Siamese cat to Darlene's barn. But they had other ideas on what was to happen. The Tabby was so scared he hung onto the stucco wire roof with all his might refusing to let go. I tell him I won't hurt him and I have a new home for him. But he refuses the carrier and won't let go. The  Siamese, named Hank went goes in  the kennel  no problem....but with the Tabby refusing. I decided I better take another pair. I call Bev. I need two more ferals to rehome today. I bring Hank anyways with me for the car ride. We decide to place Hank in the bigger indoor outdoor feral house at her house. It will be good for him and it is probably the best he has ever had. Hank is from a breeder who just cared about money. He has lived most of his life in a small cage. He is probably two years old at the most. I will check on Hank another day and see how he is doing.
So now I have my new pair of cats. They are going to Darlene's farm  and will have a nice tack room for their home. Darlene is so kind and caring and I know these two cats in the future will be out  in the sun with the ponies around them. I feel joy.

cats 3 and 4

today I get the call from Darlene who is willing to open her barn to two feral cats. These two are very wild. I can not go within twelve inches of them without seeing the fear in their eyes. But tomorrow morning I will need to  put both in a kennel to move them to their new barn. I will let you know how it goes. Wish me luck.

New home for two cats

today is Sunday, April 17th  I need to get two barn cats to their new home. They both get into the carriers without a struggle, which is nice. Just a short drive across town. Thank goodness for people like Liza and her husband who open their barn doors to give these two cats a home. These are the lucky ones, given a second chance. We will never know if these two cats ever did have a home, were they dumped?  were they born outside?

The start of Barn Rats need Barn Cats

Last week my husband and I decided to give feral cats a second chance. I am already a volenteer for Cats Cradle Rescue and have worked with many ferals kitten and cats. I have one adult feral in my feral pen named Hank. He has been with me for a few months now. So we add three more ferals from the CRD. Total now four. I need two barn homes now.  We have decided to name it Barn Rats Need Barn Cats. My husband came up with this name.I like it. I placed a few ads. My phone is ringing. I am excited. Out of six calls I have found a barn.
